Newest cookbook addition is Weeknight Baking by Michelle Lopez and her Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is delish. I added some big and cute little candy coated chocolate buttons for a little crunch!

Chocolate Chip Cookies (Weeknight Baking Book)
There are so many chocolate chip cookie recipes out there and I just added a new one to my rounds. This one is based on @hummingbirdhigh's new cookbook Weeknight Baking
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 ⅔ cup flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup chocolate covered buttons (M&Ms or Smarties)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- Beat together sugar, brown sugar and melted butter.
- Add egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and beat until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the dough by tablespoons and form into balls. Place the chocolate covered buttons (M&Ms or Smarties) on top of the dough balls.
- Bake on foil lined cookie sheets for 10 minutes or until edges begin to become golden.
