Chocolate chip muffins with just a touch of cocoa. Not a basic chocolate chip muffin but also not a double chocolate muffin, these fall somewhere deliciously in between. Plus they sparkle with sugar and a sparkling sugar muffin top is kinda hard to resist.

Cocoa Chocolate Chip Muffins
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- ½ cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon cocoa
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cup milk
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- ¼ cup coarse sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400. Line or grease muffins tins.
- Combine flour, white sugar, brown sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
- Add sour cream, egg, milk and vanilla.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Fill prepared muffin tins to the top.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- If sprinkling with coarse sugar take the muffins out a couple minutes early and sprinkle with coarse sugar and return to oven to finish baking.
