It is so hard to walk by the Pillsbury ready made dough full of fun Christmas pictures. I mean they are tradition. You need to have them at least once during the holiday season and the kids always ask for them! Turns out that they work seamlessly as a Christmassy center to my Chococolate Swirl Cookie dough. How cute are they?
Just give me the recipe, I am ready to bake!I used the Pillsbury Christmas Cookies for the centre of the cookies and then rolled my Chocolate Swirl Cookie dough around them. This dough is a similar consistency and they bake up perfectly together. The dough is very versatile and you can add different flavors to the dough or just leave it plain and add sprinkles. I added dutch processed cocoa to one third, black cocoa to one third and leave the other plain. I have had follower tell me they have added three kinds of hot chocolate powder as well. I have also make a Cookies and Cream (Oreo) version.

Some of the cookies are a mixture of all three doughs and others are just surrounded in one kind of dough. I baked them according to my Chocolate Swirl Cookie directions and they turned out perfect. They make for a great addition to a cookie tray! So next time you happen upon those Pillsbury Christmas Cookies, grab a pack and take them to the next level.
