Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Lightly grease a loaf pan.
Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter.
Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture until moistened.
(optional) Stir in ¾ cup of the chocolate chips.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
(optional) Sprinkle ¼ cup of the chocolate chips on top of the batter.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick in the middle of the bread comes out dry.
